I was lucky enough to receive an exception from work to come home to Chicago for Mother’s Day and the following week. The trip has gone so well and the 14 hours in the car definitely could have been worse. My dog. Tommie, was a great sport and laid down for the most of the way and was perfect in the hotel room.
It has been so nice to be home surrounded by everything familiar. Mainly I spend the days still working and being with my family. But yesterday, I got to see my best friend who has also returned to Chicago during this crazy time. We had a blast and also a mini adventure that I won’t mention since it wasn’t my finest moment. I also got to shop at my favorite boutique in Lake Forest! It was so much fun and I spent way too much money, but it was such a cool experience since my mom and I were the only two people allowed to shop during that time.
I will begin my travels back on Saturday and I am hoping it all goes well as it did on the way to Chicago. Not really looking forward to going back, but my hair appointment is calling my name!
