When I sat down to write this post, I realized several items I had on were from a volunteer organization’s shopping event in Denver. At first I thought Dress for Success was only in Denver, but after some research, I found Dress for Success is actually an international non-for-profit!
I first found out about Dress for Success when my friend and I joined Junior League a year ago. We spent an afternoon taking in clothes for hundreds of donors throughout the Denver area. I couldn’t believe the amount of donations that flooded in! It was amazing to see all the volunteers come together and all the peoples willingness to donate their lovely clothing items instead of selling them.
For most of the time we volunteered, we spent our time sorting through all the clothes to determine what was worth keeping. We were mainly asked to sort through for work clothes for woman of all ages and sizes. Dress for Success’ mission is to help woman achieve economic independence by providing a network of support and providing fashion apparel for their new career.
I can’t say how much I love this organization! It warmed my heart so much to be a part of such a wonderful organization. Im not sure if all Dress for Success locations do this, but a few times a year, our location opens up its doors for everyone to come shop! I have found some AMAZING pieces while also giving back! All the sales they make go right back to the organization. It is such a fun event to attend and a way to meet so many of the dedicated volunteers. I encourage everyone to see if they have a Dress for Success organization near you. It is a choice you will not regret. You can find their website here. Please join and help women in your community!
